Our MissionOur mission is to assist educators, for whom time is a precious commodity, in discovering valuable resources of substance for classroom use. We also seek to strengthen connections among the educational web by acting as courier: because of our high standards, our approach is grassroots and hands-on in nature. In previous decades, our resource collections were finite and we knew our card catalog backwards and forwards; nowadays, modern technology provides us with a seemingly infinite inventory of educational resources. Unfortunately, there simply are no comprehensive card catalogs for the internet and, sadly, many untapped resources go undiscovered by most teachers. Naturally, we feel compelled to bridge the gap. EducatorLabsEL_292067d4-ca98-11e3-9c62-50dd0200734bSchool LibrariansEducatorLabs is comprised of school librarians and media specialists who volunteer as curators and conservators of the scholastic web. Media SpecialistsTeachersA bright future for our world starts with top-notch education. Teachers, we want to help you find the lesson plans you need! Use our Resource Request form here to request a resource packet, at no cost to you: http://educatorlabs.org/request-a-resource/EducatorLabs LeadersAll current administrators and committee personnel are listed below. Additionally, we are grateful to have a growing list of professionals who volunteer their time to assist in the continuing growth of our organization. We acknowledge them with deep thanks. EducatorLabs DirectorsSusan BarnesDirector -- Ms. Susan Barnes has been working in public libraries for over 30 years, not including the many summers spent volunteering at her local library as a teenager. She believes that libraries provide more than just a service: they are, in fact, an extension of the community they serve. Some of her hobbies include teaching workshops on genealogy and document preservation, hiking with her husband and their two dogs, and collecting archaic or obsolete newspaper advertisements.Keisha L. PriceDirector -- Originally a nutritionist, Mrs. Keisha Price pursued a career in library science after growing frustrated with the falsities and obfuscation of medical advice online. As a high school librarian, Mrs. Price is determined to prevent misinformation bloats from happening in the educational realm. She enjoys yoga, coffee, and a well-rounded reference section.EducatorLabs Research CommitteeMichelle PengResearcher & Treasurer -- Ms. Michelle Peng is a full-time private school librarian and a part-time, self-proclaimed “sentimental archivist”. She enjoys collecting obscure technologies previously used in media centers such as laserdiscs and electric typewriters. A violist throughout most of her schooling, Ms. Peng can frequently be found tutoring viola and attending local symphony performances.Kelly CampbellResearcher -- Mrs. Kelly Campbell recently obtained her Master of Library and Information Science degree in 2012; since then, she has devoted much of her time to digitization efforts at several university libraries in the Southeastern US. Mrs. Campbell feels fortunate to have been raised by archaeologists, instilling in her a love of travel and academia. In the future, she hopes to travel abroad to document and/or digitize written and oral histories in communities with very little access to modern technology.Rebecca MullerResearcher -- One of the best storytellers you’ll ever meet, Ms. Rebecca Muller was born to be an elementary school librarian. Her irritation with the number of watered-down, patronizing books in juvenile nonfiction sections has compelled her to volunteer with EducatorLabs. “Ms. Becca” is a newlywed who enjoys shopping for antique nonfiction books at yard sales and conducting (mostly) delicious experiments in baking.Seth McAdamsWeb & IT SupportA bright future [enabled by] top-notch education._2920695a-ca98-11e3-9c62-50dd0200734bTo develop the Scholastic Web -- A comprehensive card catalog for the internet_29206a22-ca98-11e3-9c62-50dd0200734bClassroom ResourcesAssist educators in discovering valuable resources of substance for classroom use._29206ae0-ca98-11e3-9c62-50dd0200734b1EducatorsOur mission is to assist educators, for whom time is a precious commodity, in discovering valuable resources of substance for classroom use.
