The Board of Governors oversees number of committees that are dedicated to manage key operational aspects of the IEEE-SA. The IEEE-SA Standards Board reports directly to the BOG, and oversees the IEEE standards development process. Standards Board members are elected by IEEE-SA members as a privilege of membership, and all Board Members and Committee members must be IEEE-SA members in good standing.IEEE-SA MembersThe IEEE-SA standards development process is open to members and non-members, alike. However, IEEE-SA membership enables standards development participants to engage in the standards development process at a deeper and more meaningful level, by providing additional balloting and participation opportunities. IEEE-SA members are the driving force behind the development of standards, providing technical expertise and innovation, driving global participation, and pursuing the ongoing advancement and promotion of new concepts.Global Standards CommunityIEEE-SA also engages and collaborates with global, regional, and national organizations from around the world in order to ensure the effectiveness and high visibility of IEEE standards within IEEE and the global community.IEEE-SA Board of GovernorsTHE STANDARDS BOARD (SASB) -- Established and appointed by the IEEE-SA Board of Governors (BOG) the IEEE-SA Standards Board encourages and coordinates the development and revision of IEEE standards. This includes approving the initiation of IEEE standards projects and to reviewing them for consensus, due process, openness, and balance. The SASB gives final approval to IEEE standards prior to publication and processes all necessary appeals. About SASB Members -- The Board consists of no fewer than 18 or more than 26 voting members. They must be IEEE and IEEE-SA members. In addition, an IEEE Technical Activities Board Liaison serves as a voting member.
