She herself was the wife of a soldier and the mother of a special needs infant.

Even then, she worked the graveyard shift at Denny’s just to make ends meet.

Over the course of her successful career in business, Katie Arrington worked in international trade and ran her own real estate development company before becoming a subject-matter expert on cyber-security for the Department of Defense and running her own defense contracting company.

In 2016, Katie Arrington was elected to the State Legislature where she quickly earned a reputation for her ability to get tough legislation passed. Even as a freshman state legislator running against an incumbent Member of Congress from her own party, she earned the endorsement of the Speaker of the House and House Majority Leader.

Katie Arrington is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a woman of deep faith. As our voice in Washington, she will always stand with the families, veterans, and small businesses of the Lowcountry.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Generic_Group"><Name>Families</Name><Description/></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Generic_Group"><Name>Veterans</Name><Description/></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Generic_Group"><Name>Small Businesses of the Lowcountry</Name><Description/></Stakeholder></Organization><Vision><Description/><Identifier>_9b4c487e-9a54-11e8-8812-764bade6e336</Identifier></Vision><Mission><Description>To serve the people of South Carolina in Congress.</Description><Identifier>_9b4c4932-9a54-11e8-8812-764bade6e336</Identifier></Mission><Value><Name/><Description/></Value><Goal><Name>Corruption</Name><Description>End the Culture of Corruption in Washington</Description><Identifier>_9b4c49b4-9a54-11e8-8812-764bade6e336</Identifier><SequenceIndicator>1</SequenceIndicator><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType=""><Name/><Description/></Stakeholder><OtherInformation>Washington is broken, and career politicians are the problem, not the solution. Most importantly, I will lead by example. I have made three pledges to the people of the Lowcountry.

* I pledge donate two-thirds of my Congressional salary to local charities.
* I pledge to forego Congressional perks and benefits, including the pension program.
* I pledge to term limit myself to only eight years in Congress.
